Please take the 5 minute survey for LivingADK to help us determine the feasibility of a cohabitation program in the Central Western Adirondack region to help our seniors and young families with year round housing.  Please take the survey if you are interested in learning more about the program, or about what being a host would entail.  This is NOT a requirement to participate if you take this survey, this is to understand interest.

Free Local Financial Workshop

About This Event

Starting on January 20, 2022, a combination of public financial workshops and individual counseling will offer participants assistance in achieving their financial goals. The free monthly workshops will be offered the third Thursday of each month at Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church located at 228 Crosby Blvd, Old Forge, NY starting at 7:00 p.m. Workshops will last approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours. Topics will include, but are not limited to, budget management, debt management, improving credit reports and/or scores, financial goal setting, and developing savings and investment strategies. These topics will rotate each month and can address a variety of financial situations, ranging from hardship to more comprehensive financial planning. Counseling sessions are free and confidential, and they can assist individuals in developing plans and tracking progress.

This outreach program is a collaboration between LivingADK (formerly CAP-21), Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church, and Big Moose Community Chapel, utilizing a volunteer Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) who retired with over 29 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Participants are welcome to attend the workshops that interest them and/or sign up for individual counseling sessions. Sign-up for either of these services by contacting the Niccolls Church office at 315-369-3475. Keep an eye out for each month’s workshop reminder and topic in the Calendar of Events section of the Adirondack Express weekly newspaper.
