About This Event

As many rural Adirondack communities experience lack of resources, we look to create experiences and awareness of all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's. At our community fundraising walk on Saturday, June 20th, a representative from the Northeastern NY Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will have a table set up with varying educational information that may be helpful to you or someone you love who is caring for someone with a form of dementia. Additionally, we will be hosting a short 2-mile walk through a portion of the lovely Fern Park which then transitions to a section of sidewalk along State Route 28 which will then take you back into town and Fern Park. A raffle table will be set up with gifts donated by many local businesses. All proceeds from the raffle will be split 50/50 between the Central New York and Northeastern New York Alzheimer's Chapters for Caregiver Support. If you're in Old Forge, NY on Friday, June 19th, a representative of the Central New York Alzheimer's Association will be at the Old Forge Farmers Market with resource information from 1 pm to 5 pm.
