About This Event
LivingADK will be hosting a Town of Webb Meet the Candidates Night on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. at VIEW, the center for Arts & Culture, 3273 State Route 28, Old Forge, NY 13420. This event is created for the benefit of our electorate and is primarily for the contested seats within the Town of Webb although uncontested candidates are encouraged to attend. This evening is a more formal structure as compared to the Old Forge Library’s Voter Registration Day & Meet & Eat event scheduled for September 19th where you’ll be able to meet and speak with the candidates in a relaxed setting. The community is fortunate to have two very different opportunities to spend time getting to know our candidates.
To start the evening off, each candidate will provide a little information about themselves and what they hope to accomplish for the community if elected or re-elected.
The question and answer format will be a little different this year. LivingADK will still present questions previously provided by community residents to pertinent positions and each candidate will have a chance to respond. Additionally, the public will be encouraged to stand at the podium, one at a time, and present their own question. Each interested audience member will have 30 seconds to ask their question and the candidate/candidates will each have 3 minutes to reply. This event will be recorded and posted on LivingADK’s Facebook page and website within a few days of the event to benefit those electorate members that could not attend the in-person event. Light refreshments will be provided by LivingADK so please come around 6:30 PM to mingle with your neighbors and participate in the electoral process. We encourage community members to either drop off or email their questions for the candidates between now and September 8th to the LivingADK office.
