The Old Forge Farmers Market Opens its 19th Season on June 19
Fresh local foods, handcrafted goods, and community connections are back as the Old Forge Farmers Market (OFFM) launches its 19th season on Friday, June 19. Presented by LivingADK, the beloved weekly market continues its tradition of bringing local farmers, artisans, neighbors and visitors together every Friday afternoon through October 9, rain or shine.
The OFFM runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the George T. Hiltebrant Rec Center, at 201 North Street in Old Forge. For those who like landmarks, turn left at the Pied Piper, and we’re one-third mile down on the left. Parking is plentiful.
OFFM’s very own cookbook, From Farm to Forge: Recipes Inspired by The Old Forge Farmers Market is still available. You can pick up a copy at the OFFM, order online at LivingADK.org or find them at Old Forge Hardware, the Oil Well and View Art Center. The books are $10 and make a great gift for your friends and family. Additionally, for a donation of $10.00, we have available dark green insulated zippered grocery bags with the Old Forge Farmers Market logo on the front! Donation proceeds from the cookbooks, and grocery bags help fund our Direct Nutrition Assistance program.
Since its founding in 2008, the OFFM has become a staple of the community, featuring fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables, farm-fresh eggs and dairy products, locally raised meats, maple and honey products, baked goods, wine, spirits, artisans, crafters and more. Many longtime vendors return each season, while new vendors and specialty offerings are added as space allows.
In addition to supporting local agriculture and small businesses, the market continues its strong commitment to food security across the region. Through partnerships with Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church, Inlet Community Church, and the SHARP senior activities program, LivingADK distributes direct nutrition assistance vouchers for use at the OFFM to income-constrained households. Funded through booth rentals and grants, the program has provided more than $37,000 in direct assistance to residents, as well as past food pantry support. Voucher values remain at $12 per household per week.
Several market vendors also participate in SNAP, FreshConnect, WIC FMNP, and Senior FMNP, helping ensure fresh, wholesome food is accessible to the entire community. The OFFM also reserves a weekly courtesy booth for local nonprofits or government agencies to share information about services and programs available to area residents.
The 2026 season welcomes new Market Manager Libby Zupnik to oversee market operations and serve as LivingADK’s Food Security Program Coordinator. Visitors can identify Libby by her forest green Market Manager T-shirt.
Also new this year is an Opening Day Duck Egg Hunt to kick off LivingADK’s annual CAP-PY Duck Derby fundraiser. Ten silver eggs and ten golden eggs will be hidden throughout the market, worth $3 and $6 in market tokens respectively. Return eggs to the LivingADK market booth to redeem your winnings and find out more about the CAP-PY Duck Derby and our mission to promote healthy, vibrant and growing communities in the West Central Adirondacks.
